In fact, from sunlight alone, an average of 1,700 kWh of energy is produced annually per square meter of land.

Environmentally, half of the world’s man-made Greenhouse effect is caused by carbon dioxide. This gas is produced mainly by generation of energy from fossil fuel burning. Replacement of a diesel generator in an off-grid system reduces production of carbon dioxide by approximately 1kg per kWh! Also, the decentralization of fuel sources means less transportation of fuel. This greatly reduces the possibility of oil spills in our seas and oceans.
